SHALLOW SiDE, B. OF DAKOTA SOUTH RECORDS, ANOTHER LOST YEAR, RED TiDE RiSiNG, RiCK SHAFFER AND PEACH EMERGE ViCTORiOUS iN THE 2017 ROCKWiRED READER'S POLL AWARDS!!!
The power of the vote can lead to some startling results as we've learned in the most recent Presidential election. With that being said we at ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE were pleased with the voter participation for our tenth annual awards season. Votes for the 2017 ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS came from throughout North America and distant reaches of the globe and the winners were announced in a special one hour online radio presentation on the online radio station RADIOKSCR.COM. This was the second year that RADIOKSCR.COM served as the home of the awards show and we at ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE are eternally grateful. This year the big winners were the Alabama-based hard rock band SHALLOW SIDE and Yankton Sioux hip-hop artist B OF DAKOTA SOUTH RECORDS. SHALLOW SIDE walked away with the awards for BEST BAND, BEST SONG (for REBEL) and BEST MUSIC VIDEO (also for REBEL) and B OF DAKOTA SOUTH RECORDS secured the prize for BEST AMERICAN INDIAN/FIRST NATIONS ARTIST OR BAND and BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN AMERICAN INDIAN/FIRST NATIONS ARTIST OR BAND (for his song COME AND GET YOUR LOVE). Rounding out the other victories were RICK SHAFFER for BEST MALE ARTIST on the strength of his latest LP OUTSIDE OF TIME, ANOTHER LOST YEAR for BEST RECORDING LP for their album ALIEN ARCHITECT and RED TIDE RISING for BEST RECORDING EP for their EP VOICES.  THe results for BEST FEMALE ARTIST proved challenging due to a three way tie. Singer-songwriter ATHENA missed the spot by one vote leaving a split decision betwen PEACH and ANNI PIPER. THe split was resolved by a good old fashioned coin toss which made PEACH the winner of the category. Exactly ten years ago PEACH won the very same category in ROCKWIRED's firs ever awards season. ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE wishes to extend a congratulations to all of the winners this award season and would like to thank all of the readers and listeners and newcomers who took the time to cast a vote.
