THE 505 ROCKS PRESENTS:
THE THUNDEROUS SOUND OF FiVE MiNUTE SiN
AND THEiR FORTHCOMiNG CD AMUSE
http://www.rockwired.com/jan7.jpg JANUARY 2, 2012 - FIVE MINUTE SIN will be celebrating the release of their new album, AMUSE. The album marks thirteen years on the Albuquerque music scene, and six since their debut Without was released. FIVE MINUTE SIN recorded the album at singer and guitarist JESSE KORMAN's ELEPHONIC STUDIOS, with KORMAN producing the release and Jason Wolf engineering. AMUSE is a conceptual album, playing on opposites and exploring the dichotomous nature of human experience. Musically, the band has departed somewhat from their previous albums, this time blending classic rock, grunge, heavy alternative and stoner rock in a somewhat less defined amalgam. The band also incorporated organ and string arrangements on select songs. The band will release the entire album for free download on January 7th, with a limited number of physical copies available for sale. Formed in 1999, FIVE MINUTE SIN has become a staple on the local Albuquerque rock scene over the past thirteen years. A far cry from their early days, when the members were so young that they had to sneak into venues to play gigs, the band has since shared the stage with names national acts such as NEBULA, RADIO MOSCOW, and AGENT ORANGE, as well as playing VIP after-parties for NINE INCH NAILS, ALICE IN CHAINS, and JANE'S ADDICTION. After five years cutting their teeth, the band became regulars on stage at many of Albuquerque's venues, and were voted BEST/NEW EMERGING BAND by WEEKLY ALIBI readers in 2006, the same year they released their debut album. While they began work on a follow-up release in 2008, they eventually scrapped the whole thing, unhappy with the direction it was taking. FIVE MINUTE SIN started fresh on work for their sophomore release when Korman designed and built his ELEPHONIC RECORDING STUDIO. The band is: JESSE S. KORMAN (guitar, keys, vocals), DAN WENZ (bass), and BART WENZ (drums).

   ABOUT THE HOST:
http://www.rockwired.com/brian.JPGBRIAN LUSH holds a BA in Creative Writing from the UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO. He established ROCKWIRED on New Years of 2004 and hasn't looked back since. He is currently the host of all of ROCKWIRED.COM's programming which includes such shows as ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES and ROCKWIRED FREE FORM RADIO. As program producer for ROCKWiRED.COM, LUSH is hands-on when it comes to interviewing and building a lasting rapport with the artists that come ROCKWiRED's way. As a youngster, BRIAN LUSH had no idea what kind of seed was being planted by reading magazines such as HIT PARADE, HIGH TIMES, SPIN, REQUEST (remember that one?) and even ROLLING STONE. "Those were the days before the internet and being a rock journalist looked like the coolest job imaginable." says LUSH "But reading these magazines had me imagining that one day I'd be the artist giving all of the clever answers to some poor guy with a tape recorder. Well, life has a way of surprising you. Now, I'm the poor guy with the tape recorder and asking all of the questions."
