THE 505 ROCKS PRESENTS:
THE EARNEST ROOTS ROCK OF SAViNG DAMSELS AND THEiR FORTHCOMiNG AS-YET-UNTiTLED CD
JANUARY
5, 2012 - There is nothing like a little introspection to make a song
hit home for a listener. In the case of the Albuquerque roots band
SAVING DAMSELS, singer-songwriter JJ OTERO has provided his band with a
wide catalog of earnest - and at times humorous - tunes that speak to
life's moments both joyous and painful. The band's sound is a
raw concoction of down home roots rock, blues and country and was given
the ideal showcase on the band's 2010 debut release EMPTY ROOMS. Now
SAVING DAMSELS take their Native Soul Rock appraoch a step further on
their forthcoming as-yet-untitled sophomore release. OTERO proves
himself to be a songsmith that walks that line between pathos and humor
n the same vain as JOHN HIATT and his band of merymen - JOE PACHECO
(bass), PAX GARCIA (drums), CHUCK HAWLEY (lead guitar), DOUG BELLEN
(keyboards) - ain't no slouches either.
