NEVER I, what made you decide on the band’s name?
NEVER I is the title of a song by THE CHARIOT that we interpreted as being synonymous with selflessness. A perspective we strive to hold true in our lives and the music we make together.

Can you tell me a bit about yourself and each member of the band, what do you bring to the table?
CLINT thumps. HAYDEN jams. CONNOR is a wiz. KOTA funks. Anonymous singer hollers.

Who are your biggest influences both musically and personally?
Musically we’d have to go with bands like NORMA JEAN, UNDEROATH, and THE CHARIOT. Personal influences include LEONARDO, DONATELLO, MICHAELANGELO, RAPHAEL, and of course MASTER SPLINTER.

How many releases do you currently have out and where can people find them to buy/listen?
We have one EP, “SPEAK” (2016), and a single we released back in March called, “HOPELESSNESS IN HOPING FOR THE BEST.” // “SPEAK” is available on ITUNES, SPOTIFY, & GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC. Both the EP and “HOPELESSNESS…” are on YOUTUBE & BANDCAMP.

Recently, the band announced that you are playing WARPED TOUR, what do you hope for out of playing there?
We’re just excited to play. It’s an incredible opportunity that we never thought we would have.

You have been touring all over the country, how is your band able to keep up with the demands of travel and where have been your favourite cities to play?
We work our asses off when we’re at home. Moving from job to job just to pay bills and still be able to tour. We do everything we can to make touring go as smoothly as possible. Charlotte, NC; Spartanburg, SC; Lynchburg, VA; Orlando, FL; Bloomington, IL; Chicago, IL; Grand Junction, CO. All of those are fantastic.

What is next for NEVER I?
We recorded an EP with MATT McCLELLAN that will come out later this year. We have a new singer so we’re excited to hit the studio with him. We have a couple more tours coming up this year with some awesome bands. There is a lot of cool stuff we’re just really excited to share with everyone.

Do you have any fans that you'd like to give a shout out to? I'd like to send some love to MIKE FATJO myself.
Our friends CAMERON AUCH, DEAN STURGILL, TRENTON WORSHAM, HANNAH JONES, and KARI WHIE. Those are only a few on a long list of everyone that has supported us and helped us get where we are today. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have the support that we do.

In 20 years, where you do you see yourselves as a band?
Sitting in a hot tub with BRUNO MARS.
