Twenty-five years after she swallowed a guinea pig in the mini-series 'V', JANE BADLER returned with the release of her debut CD 'THE DEVIL HAS MY DOUBLE' and she was still every bit the sex kitten she portrayed in the 1983 cult sci-fi classic sans lizard scales. The list of soap opera (or space opera) stars that have released albums (with the exception of RICK SPRINGFIELD) remains laughably unimpressive, but BADLER bucked the trend with oh-so-tawdry material that had her "screwing" in backseats of cars on the LEONARD COHEN-sounding 'I LOVE EVERYTHING' and conjuring up MARIANNE FAITHFULL-styled angst on 'WHEN WE GOT HIGH' with a playfulness that recalls DEBORAH HARRY. Go ahead and tell us that a song like 'A DREAM ONLY LASTS' couldn't have competed with BLONDIE's 'IN THE FLESH' over thirty years ago. "I was singing these jazz covers and it really wasn't going anywhere and it really wasn't all that edgy and when you know that there is something out there for you that's a little more original and then, when it finds you, it's amazing." said BADLER back in July of 2008 "Around that time, JESSE approached me and I heard the music and I was like 'Oh, this music is really strange! I'm not sure.' JESSE and SIR had a very different approach than me. We sort of evolved together and created this character and it sort of makes so much sense now to the both of us. We're very excited."

As news of the album's release hit sci-fi related press and chat rooms with a vengeance, BADLER and the band SIT were asked to perform for the legendary traveling cabaret festival - SPIEGELTENT. According to BADLER, bringing her own daring material to the same sage where MARLENE DIETRICH first sang 'FALLING IN LOVE AGAIN' was indeed a daunting task. "It's been really interesting. It's been really crazy. It was my first time doing it. It was completely packed and there was so much hype. It was huge mental ordeal and everything but it was great! I think like anything - the first time you do something there is always that element of not being relaxed. You know what I mean? But of course when I do SPIEGELTENT now, it's no big deal. Now were off to Adelaide and we'll be performing in the SPIEGEL for two nights at this fantastic festival called the GARDEN OF UNEARTHLY DELIGHT. Now I'm probably too relaxed! After that, we will not be performing this music for a while. I think we'll be starting work on the new album, which is great."

While a follow-up album may be a long way off, both BADLER and SIR front man JESSE JACKSON SHEPHERD are both committed to continuing their musical partnership. "I expect it will be eight or nine months before we have any material. We're going to take it very slowly." says BADLER. "What we plan on doing  in the next few months is to simply work through computers. JESSE will probably put things down and I'll take them and work on them with a computer program and dub and overdub. We won't need to bring anyone in for a while until we've made the choices about how we want it. It might have more of an electronic feel to it. There will definitely be some electronic drum beats in it and then when we might need it, we'll bring in some African influences and we might bring in a violin. We feel that the world is ours now. Musically, we'd like to take things further."

While BADLER acknowledges that her sound is due for a shake up, Somethings will remain the same. "Lyrically I think things will be similar. It will have dark, twisted lyrics and have that same kind of character-driven journey, but musically, things will be different. We will be bringing in different musicians with different instruments. I think it will be a little more electronic and this time we won't have to hold on to a band. We can be free to bring in the best possible people which is kind of exciting."
