ROCKWiRED RADiO PROFiLES PRESENTS:
THE SCHiZOPHRENiC SOUND OF WE ARE THE LAST MEN ON EARTH AND THEiR ADVENTUROUS NEW RELEASE 'GiRL NAMED NEVER'
JULY 18, 2012 - KILLIAN MACGERAGHTY, frontman for the joyfully schizophrenic new band WE ARE THE LAST MEN ON EARTH, is one of those lucky veteran musicians who’s just about done it all. The San Francisco based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, drums, you name it) played LOLLAPALOOZA with one band; inspired many local groups and played the legendary Fillmore three times as frontman and “ringmaster” of the popular collective THE GUN AND DOLL SHOW; was featured in MAXIM, PLAYBOY, SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE and PERFORMER MAGAZINE and once made the cover of BAM. Older now, slightly wiser and more refined, yet as adventurous as ever musically, KILLIAN and his crew of five Bay Area Stalwarts stir up an original mix of folk, pop, Americana, jazz and smooth romantic horns mantic horns on their eclectic 11 track debut GIRL NAMED NEVER. As Killian, STEPHEN JUNCA (drums percussion), BOBBY TODD (double bass, trumpet), MORTY OKIN (trumpet, flugelhorn), JOHANNES MAGER (trombone) and ART KHU (trombone) see it, they’re a band made up of men making a cool sound (drawing from a bunch of different genres) for women. Along the way, they spill some of their dark secrets that all women should take note of as they listen to these quirky, intriguing and provocative songs.
