DECEMBER 17, 2012 FOR
iMMEDiATE RELEASE:
(Albuquerque, NM
- December 17, 2012) Rockwired.com has just
announced the nominees for its 2013 Rockwired Radio Music
Awards
season. For the past seven years Rockwired has celebrated the very best
in independent music by letting the listeners pick the top artists
that have been featured on Rockwired.com's programming in the
previous calendar year. This year's nominees truly reflect the
diversity that we pride ourselves on here at Rockwired. says
Rockwired founder Brian Lush. We've got metal, we've got hip-hop,
we've got contemporary American Indian music and Jazz. It was a
exciting year with our expanded programming and the nominations
proudly reflect that.
Some of the top nominees this year include Saint Motel( Best Band, Best Recording LP "Voyeur" and Best Song "1997"), Crash Street Kids (Best Band, Best Recording LP "Sweet Creatures" and Best Song "Sad Julia"), Another Lost Year (Best Band, Best Recording LP "Better Days" and Best Song "War On The Inside", and Wayland (Best Band, Best Recording EP "Welcome to My Head" and Best Song "WelcomeTo My Head"). A complete listing of this years nominees can be found at the bottom of this page. The artist with the most nominations this year is the American Indian hip hop artist Frank Waln with four nominations including Best Male Artist, Best Recording (EP) for Born Ready, Best Song for Hear My Cry and Best Recording By An American Indian Artist/Band. This years proceedings include two new categories Best Jazz Recording and Best Recording By An American Indian Artist/Band. We are happy and proud to introduce these two new categories Jazzed and Blue has been quite a coup for the website. The same can be said for Aboriginal Sounds. Both shows have broadened the palette of sound that one can hear at Rockwired. Lush also admits that the Grammyฎ's recent decision to do away with its Native American Music category was a factor in instituting the category for Rockwired. It's a slap in the face to ignore the musical achievements of Indian people. There are a lot of great Native artists out there and they deserve recognition. The polls for the Rockwired Radio Music Awards are now open. Listeners can cast their vote at http://www.rockwired.com/2013rockwiredballot.html. The polling is provided by Micropoll and will be available until February 22. Voters can only vote once per IP address. The winners will be announced in a special 90 minute podcast on Rockwired.com on March 5, 2013. THE 2013 NOMiNEES ARE: BEST BAND BEST FEMALE ARTIST BEST MALE ARTIST BEST RECORDING (LP) BEST RECORDING (EP) BEST SONG BEST JAZZ RECORDING BEST RECORDING BY AN AMERICAN
