opening song "BREAK ON THROUGH" gives the album a powerful start to a
psychedelic trip that leads you to "THE END" with so many less
regarded gems outside of the big three such as 20TH CENTURY FOX,
CRYSTAL SHIP, SOUL KITCHEN, THE ALABAMA SONG. If you were to
silence the vocal track on the album, the instruments would still stand
out and be distinct, especially RAY MANZAREK playing on the keys.
Often, JIM MORRISON is the most cited member of THE DOORS because he
was just so charismatic that he stood out and I feel gave rock the
larger than life image that it carried for years but he isn't without
help. You had RAY MANZAREK on keys of course, ROBERT KRIEGER on guitar,
and JOHN DENSMORE on drums. As talented as they all are, I don't think
they would have made it anywhere without JIM MORRISON and JIM MORRISON
wouldn't have made it anywhere without them.
This
album serves as a true testament to the legacy of THE DOORS and the
rock genre. In 100 years from now, people will listen to this album
dreading the fact that they didn't exist in the same era as THE DOORS.
BREAK ON
THROUGH
LIGHT MY FIRE One
of the toughest things in writing about this album is that it is 52
years old. It has been reviewed, examined, criticized, and nearly
everything. Therefore, I advise that you just simply listen to the
album if you have not. For those of you that have listened or even
existed in that era, you can go on having the confidence that to a
terrible article writing 90's child, your music still holds
up.

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX If
anything, I hope that these ACID FLASHBACK segments serve as a reminder
to those from the era that their music has made such an impact on
society and culture, so much so that it will live on forever. This
album in particular was chosen by THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS in 2015 to be
included in the NATIONAL RECORDING REGISTRY due to its cultural,
artistic, and historical significance. It is just that imperative that
this music is reported on every so often, not only as a reminder to
past generations but as an introduction of the music to a new
generation of fans. We can not allow any fraction of a chance that this
music will be forgotten.
