Richard O'Brien is a personality and a presence that has come to me subliminally throught out my life. I've seen hims in countless movies (DARK CITY, EVER AFTER) but I first remember him in a brief scene in FLASH GORDON. It would be years before I would see THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and years after that before I would realize that HE was the songwriter behind such a kick ass musical. I would learn later on that he's penned dozens of musicals, all of which I would love to see or hear someday. In 1999, he released an album called ABSOLUTE O'BRIEN and as  it usually happens, RICHARD O'BRIEN surprised me again. This is an elegant album of cool jazz and some country influences. Don't expect any RIFF RAFF here. What you're gonna hear is the kind of music you would want to get into the tub with and have a glass of champaigne with a friend. Let that friend be ROCKWIRED.
