BRIAN LUSH AND ROCKWIRED LIVE WELCOME CO-HOST SINE DOHERTY
(ANAHEIM, CA) Anyone listening to ROCKWIRED LIVE in the past few weeks has noticed a new voice on the show. It is that of radio announcer/actress SINE (pronounced SHEENA) DOHERTY bringing an heir of effervescence to host BRIAN LUSH's earthy drone. " It all happened by accident!" says LUSH in regard to how Ms. DOHERTY became the official co-host for ROCKWIRED LIVE. " I've actually known SINE through KTST-FM for years, but one day , I invited her into the studio. Usually when people sit in on a show, I usually insist that they only watch and I talk to them when a commercial is running, but for some reason, I found it easy to strike up a conversation with her and thought that it felt right."
According to LUSH, the chemistry between the two is quite "alarming". Maybe it has something to do with the fact that these two lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended the University of New Mexico at roughly the same time , yet never knew each other. "A town like Albuquerque in the late nineties was an all out party!" reminisces LUSH. "Who knows? We probably went to the same parties and just never knew. Of course education was why we were there but the partying kept you there and thanks to age, it's all a blur now."
But enough about the past. What do we know about SINE? "I'm originally from a small town in Colorado called Delta" says DOHERTY. Of course ROCKWIRED wanted to know what brought her to a place like Albuquerque; a city where even BUGS BUNNY knew he had to make a left turn from. "Originally, I moved there to get away from Colorado and move in with my sister, but eventually she went off to see the world and I was left taking care of the apartment and going to school at UNM, as well as taking a few courses at the community college there (TVI- Technical Vocational Institute). This was all between 1996 through the year 2000."
"1996 was the same year I moved to Albuquerque." adds LUSH.
For whatever reasons these two were kept apart from knowing one another in Albuquerque, they had a chance to become acquainted years later through their respective independent ventures with the AMERICAN RADIO NETWORK and it's affiliate KTST-FM. LUSH has been the producer and host ROCKWIRED since the begining of 2005 and SINE is the host of her own show ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT, which airs every Friday at 10:30 a.m. on WWW.KTSTFM.COM. "My show (ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT) gives me the chance to vent about the week that's just ended whether it was good or bad. I talk about all kinds of things and I play all kinds of music. Everything from THE CLASH to FRANK SINATRA."
DOHERTY is also an actress who has been in several stage, film and television projects. Her film credits include “FIELD OF DREAMS” and “CHARLIE'S ANGELS II.” On the small screen, she has appeared in several commercials. Her stage credits include “CAMELOT,” “GODSPELL”, and “THUNDER MOUNTAIN LIVES TONIGHT”. Aside from acting, she is in the process of working on a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
So how does DOHERTY's presence on ROCKWIRED LIVE change things? "SINE has given ROCKWIRED LIVE a good shot in the arm." says LUSH. "For the longest time, it had felt as if the the radio show was merely a sattelite for the mothership which was the website ROCKWIRED.COM. Now I'm excited about doing the show every week, because I never know whats going to happen. I can rely on SINE to take something and run with it. She's not some annoying twit like KATHY LEE GIFFORD and she's not as self-serving as STARR JONES. She's just a real person with a real interest in what's going on at ROCKWIRED and that's what it's all about here - being real."
