MARCH 1, 2013 - The polls have closed for ROCKWIRED.COM's recent ARTIST OF THE MONTH campaign. Voters from all over the U.S. made their vote count and DONNA DESTRI is ROCKWIRED.COM's  newest ARTIST OF THE MONTH exactly one year after she received teh honor the first time. She is the first female artist to be ROCKWIRED.COM'S ARTIST OF THE MONTH twice and the second artist overall to win the title twice.  Best known for being the back up singer for BLONDIE (she is the angelic backing that you hear on their 1999 hit 'MARIA') and for her spunky cover of  DAVID BOWIE's 'REBEL REBEL' back in 1983, DONNA DESTRI was the dark, mysterious beauty that deserved a greater platform to showcase her voice and songwriting  chops. It wasn't until last year that DESTRI tamed up with producer STEVEN JONES and started issuing some of the most intoxicating electronica music to hithe dancefloor since MADONNA's 'RAY OF LIGHT' . Now DESTRI and JONES have attracted the attention of techno duo COSTUME and appear on their new EP EMPIRE STATE NEON and have also released two singles  PURIFY and THREE KISSES BEFORE DYING."The most fabulous thing about STEVEN JONES is that he is a doer and he is so positive and so upbeat." says DESTRI. "He loves everything I do and I love everything that he does. It's like a mutual respect. We just get along so great so it couldn't be a better working relationship. ROCKWIRED.COM will be launching its latest ARTIST OF THE MONTH campaign on March 1, 2013. Nominees for this latest wave include PSYCHOTHERMIA, THE SERENADERS, A.S., BEN CARON, BLUE SUN, SKY KiNG and HiRAX. Polling is provided by MICROPOLL and is as simple as making a selection and clicking 'vote'.

While there is no trophy or huge payday for being an ARTIST OF THE MONTH winner, the benefits that come along with the title include expanded coverage and promotion. An ARTIST OF MONTH winner is awarded a month's worth of free site-wide advertising on ROCKWIRED.COM. A 60-second commercial spot promoting the winner and their album will be featured on ROCKWIRED.COM's entire programming for an entire month.  The winner is also featured in a special edition of ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES.  Banners are also given to the winners to further promote their ARTIST OF THE MONTH status on their own website or press packets. Lastly, winners are mentioned on all ROCKWIRED-related announcements/press materials.
