2011 - Acoma Pueblo is home to one of the oldest
continuously inhabited villages in the US. Now it gives something to
carry the warrior spirit of the Native peoples to the world, the
all-Native American metal act known as WHEN DARKNESS FALLS. Six of
Acoma Pueblo’s sons were drawn together in October 2004 and first went
by the name Tormented Soul. PATRICK “BUCKY” VALLO on drums, ROLLIN'
“ROE” VALDO on guitar, and LARSON “DUTCH” VALDO on guitar were drawn
together and were the catalyst that would spawn When Darkness Falls.
They were soon joined by BRANDON “TURTLE” VALDO on vocals, LAWRENCE
“JAY” GARCIA on bass, and ZACHARY GARCIA on additional vocals. They
drew upon musical inspiration by playing covers from some of their
favorite bands like; Metallica, Pantera (RIP Brother Dime), OZZY, Rob
Zombie, Killswitch Engage, and others from this genre. The love for
music and live performances flowed within their group and inspired them
to write their own original material. . In 2008 When Darkness
Falls signed to an independent label MYSTERIA RECORDSand
released their acclaimed debut CD A NEW DEFENSE. It was a success and
the CD continues to sell well. Now the band has retruned with the

way. As a youngster, BRIAN LUSH had no idea what kind of seed was being
planted
by reading magazines such as HIT PARADE, HIGH TIMES, SPIN, REQUEST
(remember
that one?) and even ROLLING STONE. "Those were the days before the
internet and being a rock journalist
looked
like the coolest job imaginable." says LUSH "But reading these
magazines had me
imagining that one day I'd be the artist giving all of the clever
answers to
some poor guy with a tape recorder. Well, life has a way of surprising
you.
Now, I'm the poor guy with the tape recorder and asking all of the
