NOVEMBER 1, 2010 - The polls have closed for ROCKWIRED.COM's first ever ARTIST OF THE MONTH campaign. Voters from all over the U.S. and around the world made their vote count and singer/actress and former MISS AMERICA contestant JANE BADLER walked away the winner.  The month of November also marks the drop date of BADLER's latest CD TEARS AGAIN (the follow up to her 2008 release 'THE DEVIL HAS MY DOUBLE'). In 1983, BADLER rose to public consciousness for her portrayal of DIANA - a reptilian villianess hellbent on conquering the planet Earth and harvesting it's human inhabitants for food - in the classic science fiction miniseries 'V'. In the new year, the Melbourne-based actress and chanteuse will return to American network television and to the very franchise that launched her celebrity. BADLER will star alongsinde current sci-fi hottie/baddie MORENA BACCARIN in ABC TELEVISION's re-imagined 'V' series, playing the latter's mother.

While much of the fanfare is targeted toward her return to 'V', BADLER's sophomore release is definitely something to celebrate. Her forthcoming CD 'TEARS AGAIN' is a
spunky, delectable romp through that disaster area known as romantic relationships. BADLER's forked tongue is permanently planted in cheek with such playful gems as WRONG PEOPLE and FOUR CORNERS.

Other nominees for ARTIST OF THE MONTH included former ROCKSTAR: SUPERNOVA winner and front man LUKAS ROSSI, AMERICAN HI-FI, ACIDIC, BIRD CALL, DELANEY GIBSON and RIA. BADLER won 45% of the vote with LUKAS ROSSI at a close second followed by AMERICAN HI-FI and ACIDIC. "This was indeed an exciting campaign and one that we will be happy to continue on a monthly basis here at ROCKWIRED" says ROCKWIRED founder BRIAN LUSH. "Events like this have a way of exciting the listeners and bringing new people to ROCKWIRED. Doing this on a monthly basis, I feel, is going to give ROCKWIRED that little extra jolt."

ROCKWIRED.COM will be launching its second ARTIST OF THE MONTH campaign on November 1, 2010. Nominees for the second wave include LE REVERIE, FRIEND SLASH LOVER,  VTG, DHANA,  JUSTIN FOUTZ,  CIRCLEDOWN and SACRED 13. Polling is provided by MICROPOLL and is as simple as making a selection and clicking 'vote'. "MICROPOLL has made the job of tallying votes much easier." says LUSH. "The service that they provide is invaluable and it's always fascinating to see where the responses are coming from."

While there is no trophy or huge payday for being an ARTIST OF THE MONTH winner, the benefits that come along with the title include expanded coverage and promotion. An ARTIST OF MONTH winner is awarded a month's worth of free site-wide advertising on ROCKWIRED.COM. A 90-second commercial spot promoting the winner and their album will be featured during every edition of ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES for an entire month.  The winner is also featured in a special edition of ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES which will stream continuously through the index page of ROCKWIRED.COM for a whole month. Banners are also given to the winners to further promote their ARTIST OF THE MONTH status on their own website or press packets. Lastly, winners are mentioned on all ROCKWIRED-related announcements/press materials.
