NAKE NULA WAUN EMERGE

AS ROCKWiRED.COM's SEPTEMBER ARTiST OF THE MONTH!!!  SEPTEMBER
1, 2011 - The polls have closed for ROCKWIRED.COM's recent ARTIST OF
THE MONTH campaign. Voters from all over the U.S. made their vote count
and the hip hop band NAKE NULA WAUN walked away the winner.
The Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota is an unlikely
domicile for a hip hop band but that hasn't deterred FRANK WALN, DRE,
KODI DE NOYER and TOM SCHMIDT aka 'JS' (currently serving in the
Marines) from kicking out some of the most heartfelt and inspired jams
in recent memory. In 2010, the band hit the scene with their
mesmerizing debut SCARS AND BARS - a funkified treatise on survival and
hope amid all obstacles. Not ones to waste time between recordings,
NAKE NULA WAUN have just released their eagerly awaited follow up CD
THE DEFINITION. This is the first time in the history of the ARTIST OF
THE MONTH campaign where the winner wasn't featured on an edition of
ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES but on the weekly online radio series
ABORIGINAL SOUNDS - A CELEBRATION OF CONTEMPORARY NATIVE MUSIC. NAKE
NULA WAUN are also the first hip hop band to become a ROCKWIRED ARTIST
OF THE MONTH.Other nominees for ARTIST OF THE MONTH included JON MULLANE, BACK FROM ASHES, MARILYN MCLEOD, TEDDY PRESBERG, MARCH INTO PARIS and DANSEWOLF. The victory for NAKE NULA WAUN was a close one with BACK FROM ASHES coming in second by only 15% of the vote. DANSEWOLFE was not far behind in third place. ROCKWIRED.COM will be launching its latest ARTIST OF THE MONTH campaign on SEPEMBER 1, 2011. Nominees for this latest wave include BRIAN BUCKLEY BAND, RICK SHAFER, BACK POCKET MEMORY, MELVOY, LIGHT THE BLACK SKYE, THE THINGS THEY CARRIED and HEART-SET SELF DESTRUCT. Polling is provided by MICROPOLL and is as simple as making a selection and clicking 'vote'. While there is no trophy or huge payday for being an ARTIST OF THE MONTH winner, the benefits that come along with the title include expanded coverage and promotion. An ARTIST OF MONTH winner is awarded a month's worth of free site-wide advertising on ROCKWIRED.COM. A 60-second commercial spot promoting the winner and their album will be featured on ROCKWIRED.COM's entire programming for an entire month. The winner is also featured in a special edition of ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES. Banners are also given to the winners to further promote their ARTIST OF THE MONTH status on their own website or press packets. Lastly, winners are mentioned on all ROCKWIRED-related announcements/press materials.
