AS ROCKWiRED.COM's OCTOBER ARTiST OF THE MONTH!!!  OCTOBER 3, 2011 - The polls have closed for ROCKWIRED.COM's
recent ARTIST OF
THE MONTH campaign. Voters from all over the U.S. made their vote count
and THE BRINAN BUCKLEY BAND walked away the winner.
This four-piece band is a conglomeration of various
musical tastes. A pretzel twist of rock, folk and experimental
influences---they emote directly to the heart--having executed both
with record labels and independently. They have worked with an array of
well known producers, such as MARK HOWARD (U2 and BOB DYLAN). The BRIAN
BUCKLEY BAND has broken the top ten in Europe on iTunes and their new
record HYSTERICAL BLINDNESS has been licensed to film and television
alike. Recently, the BRIAN BUCKLEY BAND was announced as the winner of
the "New Music Night" competition, sponsored by House of
Blues/LiveNation and Sonicbids, sending them to celebrate with
performances at the House of Blues in San Diego, Los Angeles and Las
Vegas.Other nominees for ARTIST OF THE MONTH included RICK SHAFER, BACK POCKET MEMORY, MELVOY, LIGHT THE BLACK SKYE, THE THINGS THEY CARRIED and HEART-SET SELF DESTRUCT. ROCKWIRED.COM will be launching its latest ARTIST OF THE MONTH campaign on OCTOBER 3, 2011. Nominees for this latest wave include WHISKEY DAWN, NAKE NULA WAUN, LITHIUM SEVEN, HEADROOM, ALYSSA GRAHAM, LOW-FI and KENNY LOVE. Polling is provided by MICROPOLL and is as simple as making a selection and clicking 'vote'. While there is no trophy or huge payday for being an ARTIST OF THE MONTH winner, the benefits that come along with the title include expanded coverage and promotion. An ARTIST OF MONTH winner is awarded a month's worth of free site-wide advertising on ROCKWIRED.COM. A 60-second commercial spot promoting the winner and their album will be featured on ROCKWIRED.COM's entire programming for an entire month. The winner is also featured in a special edition of ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES. Banners are also given to the winners to further promote their ARTIST OF THE MONTH status on their own website or press packets. Lastly, winners are mentioned on all ROCKWIRED-related announcements/press materials.
