FEBRUARY
21,
2011 - Music that speaks to society's ills and injustices
seems like a long abandoned practice. Not since the days of BOB DYLAN
have singer-songwriters stuck it to corporate greed but now you can
count Scottish singer songwriter FINLAY MORTON as one of the few if not
the only one. Despite hailing from across the Atlantic,
MORTON draws much of his musical inspiration from America's finest and
dare I say rootsier songwriters and boasts a delivery that recalls J.J.
CALE. For his forthcoming CD HARVEST THE WIND, (the follow up to his
2005 release INTERPRET THIS), FINLAY addresses ecological concerns with
the title track, gives corporations the middle finger with DON'T CRY
FOR CORPORATE AMERICA and bursts the bubble with CHASING THE AMERICAN
DREAM. ![]() YOU
