In conceptualizing the most effective, high impact way to share the optimistic, consciousness raising themes of his latest and most powerful musical venture, MICHAEL SHIELDS, frontman and founder of the socially conscious soul rock collective EARTH AND TH ENEXT SOCIETY, released the 2011 concert recording LIVE EARTH as their debut. The bold experiment of launching a group with a live album (recorded in locales like Taos, New Mexico and Northern California) paid off, as they received airplay in over 180 countries. The group also opened shows for legendary rockers like JOHNNY WINTER and NAZARETH. Recording in his newly built state of the art home facility in Sedona, Shields translates the expansive vision for his new full length album 100TH MONKEY to the studio environment perfectly, balancing crisp sonics, exciting grooves and powerful lyrical themes with a lineup featuring keyboardist TOM McMILLAN, bassist JIMMY MACK (SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE, EDWIN STARR) and drummer DAVID BEDDELL. Currently finishing the album for release later in 2014, SHIELDS is releasing an EP featuring four key tracks that hint at the overall sound of the album�s distinctive production and a range of retro vibes that roll from CURTIS MAYFIELD inspired 70s funk cool (CHEAP HUSTLE) to the 70s and 80s pop/rock sensibilities of AWAKE AND ALIVE.

BRIAN LUSH holds a BA in Creative Writing from the UNiVERSITY OF NEW MEXiCO. He established ROCKWIRED on New Years of 2004 and hasn't looked back since. From January 2005 to March 2009, LUSH was the host of the weekly internet radio show ROCKWiRED LiVE. He produced the program for the AMERiCAN RADIO NETWORK. As the editor-in-chief for ROCKWiRED MAGAZiNE, LUSH is hands-on when it comes to interviewing and building a lasting rapport with the artists that come ROCKWiREDs way. As a youngster, BRIAN LUSH had no idea what kind of seed was being planted by reading magazines such as HIT PARADE, HIGH TIMES, SPIN, REQUEST (remember that one?) and even ROLLING STONE. "Those were the days before the internet and being a rock journalist looked like the coolest job imaginable. says LUSH "But reading these magazines had me imagining that one day I'd be the artist giving all of the clever answers to some poor guy with a tape recorder.
