We're at the half way point for 2014 and ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE is continuing to serve up some truly electrifying editorial. For the month of June, the magazine will be celebrating the member of the rock band that is often overlooked – the bass player. This special issue will be titled ACES OF BASS and will contain a fourteen page photographic spread of 25 bassists who are making some noise in Active Rock The issue will also feature a three-hour podcast that will feature music and exclusive interviews with the bass players who made the cut. This podcast can be downloaded from the issue. Alongside this special feature is just the sort of bold editorial that folks have come to expect from ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE. In June we will be featuring exclusive interview with sci-fi icon turned provocative chanteuse JANE BADLER, BACK FROM ASHES, SILVERTUNG, FIRE TIGER and more. Another exciting edition to our editorial is SAY WHAT NOW? - a series of podcast news features that go behind the usual Q&A. These shows will address issues in independent music and profile entrepreneurs and movers and shakers in the music industry. We are truly excited to be making this addition to ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE and are even more excited about pushing the limits for what is possible with a digital publication. HERE IS THE LiST OF 25 BASS

ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES, ABORIGINAL SOUNDS - A CELEBRATION OF
CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN INDIAN AND FIRST NATIONS MUSIC and JAZZED AND
BLUE - PROFILES IN BLUES AND JAZZ. The combination of ROCKWIRED's
musical reportage an it's online radio programming make ROCKWIRED.COM a
hot spot for not only reading up on the what's new in rock but for
listening to what's new and hearing the stories from the artists
themselves.
There is an
awful lot of talk these days about about
how disposable the current pop set is and music critics (there are so
many of them) who seem to be favoring the offerings of hip hop, country
and folk-type artists. Rock n roll is clearly not the music of the day
but ROCKWIRED.COM's founder BRIAN LUSH feels that this is the most
exciting time for rock n roll. "Rock music doesn't have a lot of major
label support but it's got the support of thousands of small,
independent labels throughout the country that seem to be popping up
everywhere. It's back to square one with rock music. It's just like the
fifties when rock music go it's start on smaller labels like SUN
RECORDS and CHESS RECORDS. With ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE, we are celebrating
this spirit of independence because we feel that that is what makes
rock n roll great. There was a time when the major complaint was that
rock n roll had become too corporate and boring well guess what? Times
have changed and rock music is more independent than ever and the
independent spirit , creativity and industriousness that it takes to
keep the music going is something that we highlight in every issue of
ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE."
